Unlocking Longevity: The Microbiome Connection

Sadly, we are all mortal. So the question becomes, “how long can we live.” An equally important question is, “how long can we live well?” What´s the point of living to 100, if the last ten or twenty years of your life are spent in misery.

People spend absolute fortunes to try to look better. Whether it´s plastic surgery in the face, or other parts, supplements, oxygen chambers, exercise and more, living well, or the perception of living well is important to many. Spending money on your looks is fine if you´re happy with the results, but that´s only a part of the equation. That´s your external self, the perception that others have of you. How about the internal?

We can address that in many ways. Many claim to eat well, but when you come to know these people, the truth can be very different. Many people also exercise, or at the very least go to the gym, but often times their effort is definitely lacking. The easiest thing for people to do is take dietary supplements. In my many years in this field, I´ve even had doctors ask me “Guy, I want to lose weight, but I don’t want to exercise, what supplements should I take?” Of course, when it comes to weight loss, I recommend a blend of several things. You can watch more on that in my Microbiome University or find the protocol on the protocols tab of my website.

But for now, yes, there are dietary supplements which can offer help. A few years ago, there was this quick fad over raspberry ketones. Another bit of supplement gossip and BS, giving the industry a bad name. There are many other supplements that are a waste of your money, not only for weight loss, but for anything. Then there are the ones that can help.

Your gastrointestinal microbiome plays an enormous role in your health. I have read thousands of scientific papers over the years on this topic, and helped many people along the way, using specific supplements. My method is science and data based, and proven to work. It´s different than what you´ll hear from others. That´s because I’m not full of BS. I’m all about the science and the data, and of course ultimately the results. If you watch my educational presentations, both on my YouTube channel or on my website within my Microbiome University, you’ll come to appreciate my perspective once you begin to understand the material.

When it comes to healthy aging, some of the keystone health-promoting taxa have names like Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Roseburia, Eubacterium rectale and more. There are other key players as well. There is the genus Eggerthella, which contains opportunistic pathogens. There are also interesting actors such as the genus Odoribacter and the species Akkermansia muciniphila. These are names you’ve likely never heard of before, but names which are relevant to healthy aging. Why? Because I’ve done the complete analysis of all studies looking at the microbiomes of centenarians and in the elderly frail.

What you don’t see in this microbial equation, are names of which you are familiar, like Lactobacillus. This popular “probiotic-containing” genus appears to play no role in healthy aging. And if you watch my presentations, you’ll come to learn that I am NOT a fan of Lactobacillus, with the exception of infants and vaginal health. What I am a fan of is science and data. And they tell me that the previous names I listed are important in healthy aging. But, they don’t exist as probiotics.

So, how do you optimize their presence? Many of them are inside of you now, just maybe not in sufficient quantity. Some you don’t have, or had before rounds of antibiotics, or maybe never had. What we need to do is work with what we’ve got. We need to maximize the presence of the health-promotors, and minimize the presence of the omnipresent opportunistic pathogens. Many of the habits and choices you’ve made in your life tend to shift this delicate balance for the worse. I’m here to help you shift it in the right direction.

In our world as it is, we all now have to be our own health advocates. With a broken government, food and medical system, you need to take charge of your healthcare. So, educate yourself, as best you can. This is why I’ve launched my educational platform. For you. You can find my presentation entitled, “Healthy Aging and the Microbiome” in my Microbiome University tab, and also on my YouTube channel. If you think your health would be well served by addressing your microbiome, you can visit the Protocols tab on my website, and for the mere price of a cup of coffee, you can find a science-based protocol which may dramatically improve your quality of life.
