Type 2 Diabetes/Obesity and the Microbiome

TheMicrobiomeExpert_Type 2 Diabetes/Obesity and the Microbiome

I’ve lumped these two conditions, type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obesity together in this presentation, as they are so tightly linked. As I always say, “it’s all connected”.

The International Diabetes Federation has estimated that type 2 diabetes currently affects over 463 million people in the world. And in the US, in adults, the rate of obesity is 42%. The rate of being overweight is 31%. That’s right. Obesity has a higher prevalence than being overweight. That means together, 73% of Americans are either overweight or obese. That’s insane. The direct medical costs in 2022 were estimated to be $307 billion.

As always, in my presentations, you’ll see information and perspective which you can find no place else. And if you’re familiar with my videos, you know I always highlight the key players within the microbial fingerprint for any given condition, and it’s no different for these two. It is this balance between health-promotors and opportunistic pathogens that is at the root of most any condition you can think of.

As a part of my video, you’ll see studies implicating the so-called probiotic Lactobacillus in weight gain. For example, here are a couple quotes from the authors of scientific papers.

“Lactobacillus species are widely used as growth promoters in the farm industry and are now linked to obesity in humans”.

“Decades of research have indicated that the use of probiotics in farm animals is beneficial as it improves feed efficiency, weight gain, and immune response.”

I provide that, and so much more evidence to help you better understand my philosophy, which is to the address the root cause. And what’s that? The inflammation driven by a dysbiotic microbiome.

As the former director of medical education for a microbiome firm, and now with my own platform, I have helped many people over the years. Not only have a done a complete meta-analysis of all of the available microbiome research for T2D and obesity, but I’ve also done a complete meta-analysis for all of the main prebiotics. I know which health-promotors are significantly reduced, and I know how to feed them to restore balance.

In our world as it is, we all now have to be our own health advocates. With a broken government, food and medical system, you need to take charge of your healthcare. So, educate yourself, as best you can. This is why I’ve launched my educational platform. For you. You can find my presentation entitled, “Type 2 Diabetes/Obesity and the Microbiome” in my Microbiome University tab, and also on my YouTube channel. If you have a condition or disease that you think would be well served by addressing your microbiome, you can visit the Protocols tab on my website where you can find a science-based protocol which may dramatically improve your quality of life, as they have done for many others (see my testimonials)
